After graduating with a Masters in Engineering from Cambridge University, Uma’s early career was with Mars Group, where she spent 10 years in product innovation for household names such as Mars, Celebrations and Galaxy.

During this time, Uma developed core management skills and a passion for consumer driven product design, working across everything from consumer research, design, prototyping, developing and productionizing, to launching new products.

Gaining an MBA from INSEAD helped nurture her entrepreneurial mindset and from here she co-founded her first business, a social purchasing start-up. Her FinTech expertise then grew further through various Head of Product roles at leading online consumer lending business, Wonga Group, across Consumer Loans, Business Lending (Everline.com), and Peer to Peer Lending.

In 2016, Uma co -founded CapitalRise, to help bring FinTech innovation to the prime property lending market.

She lives in north London.

Alex has a background in corporate finance having started his career in Investment Banking Management for HSBC before working for HSBC Private Equity.

He has been involved in the property sector since 2001 when he co-founded Finchatton, the successful international design and development firm. Over the past 20 years, Finchatton has delivered over 120 projects in prime central London and worldwide with a value in excess of £2 billion.

He holds a BA Hons degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham and lives in west London.

Andrew has significant residential property and development experience having worked in the residential sector for over 19 years. In 2001, he co-founded Finchatton, the successful international design and development firm.

Over the past 20 years, Finchatton has delivered over 120 projects in prime central London and worldwide with a value in excess of £2 billion.

He graduated in Politics and Sociology from Exeter University and lives in west London.

Matt sits on the CapitalRise Board and Credit Committee with oversight of all loans made by the CapitalRise team. He is also Finance Director of Finchatton, the successful international design and development firm.

He has over 20 years corporate finance experience with a focus on UK residential and commercial property.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds an Honours degree in Geography from the University of Exeter. He lives in south London.

Responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of CapitalRise, Stuart joined the business after seven years at the Berkeley Group.

During his time there, he worked on several large Central London developments, most recently as a Finance Director in the St James Division. Prior to that he worked at Bunzl Plc and PwC where he trained and qualified in accountancy.

He holds a bachelors degree in Politics & History from University of Durham and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He lives in south west London.

After gaining his MBA from INSEAD business School in 1985, Mark had a 30 year career in the Hedge fund industry. In 2007 he was a Founding Partner of Jabre Capital Partners which grew to be one of the most successful Hedge Funds in Europe.

After a brief period of retirement, Mark was so impressed by his experience as a customer of CapitalRise that he decided to join the business as a partner to help build the Capital Markets base.

He splits his time between south west London and Warwickshire.

Lee joins the CapitalRise lending team with over 23 years’ experience in financial services.

Previously at Assetz Capital, Lee was a Development Finance Director responsible for delivering structured property finance solutions to experienced property developers across London and the South East. Prior to that, he was a Relationship Director in the London Corporate Team at Santander providing cashflow, growth and acquisition finance. Having begun his career at HSBC, he later went on to join Bank of Scotland Corporate, and then Clydesdale Bank Property Finance operating solely in the Prime London Market.

With experience spanning across the residential property, hotels & leisure and healthcare sectors, Lee’s specialisms include origination, debt structuring, execution and client relationship management. He lives in Essex.

David is an experienced property finance professional with strong scale-up skills and an entrepreneurial outlook.

In his role as Head of Credit Risk at CapitalRise, he is responsible for managing and developing the team of risk professionals and oversees the delivery of credit risk expertise to the business.

Prior to CapitalRise, David was Head of Portfolio at Silbury Finance and Head of Development Portfolio at Octopus Real Estate.

Julia is responsible for the creation and execution of CapitalRise's product vision and strategy, both for the existing property investment platform and future products. She also oversees the technology function.

She has worked at several Fintech start-ups and has led product teams for web and mobile product offerings. Most recently, she was the Senior Product Manager for an environmental investing mobile app, where she designed the growth and acquisition product strategy, launched impact measurement features, and oversaw the commercial discovery of new product lines.

Julia holds a Masters in Engineering and lives in North London.

Philip leads CapitalRise's marketing strategy and communications programmes. Before joining CapitalRise in 2022, he spent three years at a premium later living developer and operator – where he was responsible for brand development and lead generation.

Before that, he spent over six years with a global marketing agency and, later, a B2B brand consultancy, working on a range of strategic and results-driven integrated marketing campaigns.

Philip holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Oxford, and lives in North London.

Pip joined CapitalRise as an Capital Markets Client Manager, responsible for managing and co-ordinating our institutional client base. He has since been promoted to Associate Director.

Formerly a Relationship Manager at Danske Bank, Pip’s role covered international Institutional clients (Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Insurance, Pension and Sovereign Wealth Funds) managing and developing relationships with Danske’s US/UK Asset Manager and Hedge Fund portfolios. Prior to that, he gained experience across the FX trading teams at National Australia Bank.

Pip holds a BSc in Psychology and lives in south east London.

Daisy joined the Investor Relations team at the beginning of 2023. Daisy graduated from Exeter University in 2016 with a degree in Geography. Since then, she has spent time in London, gaining extensive experience in both client-facing and marketing roles.

When not in the office Daisy enjoys heading back to the Norfolk countryside for the weekend.

Brandon joined the CapitalRise Investor Relations team in mid-2023. He began his career with a placement at Danske Bank where he worked on the Institutional Banking team. Brandon holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow.

Katy is responsible for originating and managing broker and borrower relationships for CapitalRise, as well as borrower marketing activities. Her primary focus is to identify new targets, leverage existing relationships and create marketing and communications campaigns to raise the company’s profile in the industry.

Prior to CapitalRise, she spent 3 years at Zorin Finance where she was responsible for Business Development and Origination in Residential Development Finance. She has over 18 years of experience in the Real Estate industry in various roles, including four years at Charles Russell Speechlys as a Business Development Manager for the property team. She also has extensive experience with investors and developers in luxury overseas property in the Caribbean, Spain and Cape Verde Islands.

Katy holds a Bsc Hons degree in Business Computing Systems and currently lives in north London.

Raf joins the CapitalRise lending team with over 7 years’ experience in financial services. Previously at Coutts, Raf was a Relationship Director responsible for origination, bespoke deal structuring, execution, and client relationship management predominantly for HNW and UHNW clients.

He began his career at The NatWest Group and his experience is across all sectors of real estate including retail, office, industrial, student housing and residential with a particular specialism of development finance and construction.

Raf is a fully qualified Chartered Associate of the London Institute of Banking and Finance; he holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol. He lives in North East London.

Imogen Williams's role as Business Development Director at CapitalRise involves building on existing and establishing new relationships with developers, property investors, and those requiring real estate debt in markets across London and the South East. Imogen brings 11+ years of industry experience from across the property, finance, bridging and development markets. Imogen joined the firm from MFS, where she worked as Regional Sales Manager. She has worked with large-scale developers to secure funding for high and ultra-high net worth clients.

Ed is responsible for analysing prime property lending opportunities at CapitalRise.

Ed holds a (BEng) in Architectural Environment Engineering at the University of Nottingham. He then went on to completing a (MSc) in MSc Real Estate Finance at the University of Reading. He currently lives in South London.

Max is responsible for analysing prime property lending opportunities at CapitalRise. Max holds a (BSc Hons) in Economics from the University of Nottingham and joined CapitalRise after completing a Summer Internship in July 2022. He currently lives in Kent

Aadam is responsible for analysing prime property lending opportunities at CapitalRise.

Aadam joined the business from United Bank Limited, where he analysed residential and commercial real estate investment loans. He was also responsible for maintaining strong client relationships and managing the real estate loan portfolio.

Aadam holds a BA (Hons) degree in French with Business Management from Queen Mary University of London.

Tony has worked in the banking and property sector for over 20 years, undertaking various managerial roles. He began his career with around 12 years at the Bank of Ireland, assisting on both investment and development property transactions. He then joined United Trust Bank, where he worked for around five years as a relationship manager, assisting with and funding developers in London and the homes counties. Since then, Tony has spent the last three years with Hampshire Trust Bank as an analyst and later senior relationship manager.

Over his career, Tony has gained a wealth of experience in credit risk management, assessing loan applications and the on-going management of residential and commercial loans through to completion and subsequent repayment. He currently divides his time between Essex and North London.

Monty joins the CapitalRise team as a portfolio manager, responsible for the management of CapitalRise’s loan portfolio from initial drawdown through to redemption.

Monty has five years’ experience within the real estate finance industry through previous private debt, banking, and legal roles. Prior to joining CapitalRise, Monty held a senior analyst position at Australian-based lender Pallas Capital, responsible for underwriting and execution of real estate transactions across a variety of sectors. Monty was a solicitor at Bell Gully in New Zealand acting on large-scale real estate finance transactions before holding a senior associate position at Bank of New Zealand.

Monty holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Otago, and was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2019.

Simon holds an MEng in Engineering Science from Balliol College, University of Oxford. Following his graduation, he continued his education at the University of Cambridge, gaining an MPhil in Real Estate Finance in 2023.

Simon joined CapitalRise as a Portfolio and Credit Analyst. In his role, he supports the Credit Manager and is responsible for borrower and transaction due diligence, assessing credit risk, and undertaking regular loan management.

Flora is an experienced and driven marketer with a strong property background. She has experience working across both B2B and B2C multimedia campaigns over a variety of channels, PR agency experience, and has also worked to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Flora has joined CapitalRise to support its ongoing marketing activities, from content and social media, to events and PR.

With over 15 years of experience in Software Architecture & Development, Security, Data Protection & Privacy (GDPR), DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and management, Ola joined CapitalRise to create and oversee the execution of its technology vision and strategy.

Prior to joining the company, she played a similar role in a health-tech start-up that went on to be successfully acquired in 2021. Over the course of her career, Ola has worked in various senior technical roles in various industries and has successfully led multiple technical teams and initiatives in both the public and private sectors.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in IT & Business Information Systems from the University of Middlesex, and currently lives in the fine city of Norwich.

Lola Ogungbuaro joined the CapitalRise team in 2023 as a Quality Assurance Engineer, ensuring that the software application is reliable, secure and functional to meet our customer’s expectations. She has experience working both in the business and technical sides of the financial industry, first as a customer relationship officer in the commercial and retail banking sector and then as a Quality Assurance/Software tester.

Lola holds an ISTQB certification and is a member of the British Computer Society. She also holds a CompTIA Security Plus certification, showcasing her commitment to maintaining a high standard of expertise. She holds a Master's degree in Computing Science from the University of East Anglia and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Science from the University of Lagos. She currently lives in Norwich, Norfolk.

Danny is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He oversees all end-to-end financial operations, planning, analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, procedures and controls at CapitalRise. Danny has been with the company since the start of 2022.

Prior to CapitalRise, he worked as the Senior Finance Manager at international cyber security advisory Templar Executives and, before that, at chartered accountants Mulberry & Co.

Michael is a part-qualified accountant who joined the CapitalRise team in January 2024, where he is responsible for supporting day-to-day finance functions. After graduating from the University of Bath with a BSc (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance, he started his career working in the Accountancy team at a real estate developer. He also spent his placement year working in internal audit for a video game publishing label.

Having completed a degree in interior architecture and design at Arts University Bournemouth, Jasmine went on to work as a Project Co-Ordinator in interior design. She also has seven years of experience as a PA at property and engineering companies.

Jasmine now works as Uma's Personal Assistant and the Office Manager, providing administrative support to the CapitalRise team

Having graduated from the University of Wales, Bangor with a degree in English, Katherine qualified as a solicitor in 2001, working in the corporate department at Forsters where she specialised in corporate structures for property clients.

After a break to bring up a young family, Katherine moved into financial services joining Prosper Capital LLP in 2011 and becoming the Compliance Officer in 2015. Having provided compliance support to CapitalRise since 2020 on a consultancy basis, Katherine moved in house part-time as Compliance Manager.

She holds a Level 6 Diploma in Investment Compliance and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.
