CapitalRise Welcomes New Head of Credit Risk
Prime property investment platform, CapitalRise, has appointed Amanda Matthams (pictured above) as its new Head of Credit Risk. Amanda joins the senior leadership team at the firm, which has funded over £1bn of prime property assets across London and the wider South East. In her new role, Amanda will manage and develop the Credit and Portfolio teams, and provide credit risk expertise to the business.
CapitalRise offers eligible members the opportunity to invest in prime property development loans. The firm’s Innovative Finance ISA allows for tax-free investments in real estate projects. To date, CapitalRise has originated over £440m in loans, with £265m so far repaid in capital and returns to its investors.
Once projects are funded, CapitalRise monitors them constantly to ensure the developments are progressing toward completion as expected, and to provide its investors with detailed quarterly reports. The Credit Risk function, which Amanda will be leading, is vital for this work to be carried out efficiently.
With over 25 years of experience in credit management and lending, Amanda has held senior positions, such as Head of Credit at United Trust Bank and has worked in credit risk roles at Hampshire Trust Bank and Bank of Ireland.
As an experienced senior risk professional, Amanda has a proven track record in developing, implementing, and reviewing risk management and risk appetite frameworks, policies, risk governance, and reporting. She has extensive credit risk experience across various sectors at both transactional and organisational levels, combined with strong commercial and strategic awareness.
